A note from our founder

Stand Tall, My Jewish Brothers & Sisters

This past Shabbat, on the same quiet walk I take every week, I came upon a sight I haven’t been able to put down since.

Twenty, maybe thirty young Jewish men — each one more handsome than the last, each one stronger than the last — out on an open field, playing baseball in the afternoon sun. Running, laughing, fully alive. I stood there longer than I meant to, because I understood I wasn’t just watching a ballgame. I was watching who we are becoming.

We live in a time when a Jew can open the news and feel his stomach tighten. Antisemitism we were promised belonged to the history books is back, in broad daylight, here in America and across the world. And yet — right in front of me, on an ordinary afternoon — were these young men with no fear in their eyes. No fear of being seen. No fear of being known. Many of them wore their Magen David out in the open, resting on their chest as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Because it is.

No hiding. No lowering the voice. No glance over the shoulder. Just Jewish boys, being fully, proudly, unapologetically Jewish.

And something in me settled. Our younger generation is not shrinking. They are stronger than ever.

We do not cower. We do not back down. We keep walking, and we stand tall — regardless.

And it makes no difference what “kind” of Jew you are. Sephardic or Ashkenazi. Frum or Modern Orthodox. Reform, traditional, or still finding your way. Whatever community raised you, whatever name you go by — we are one people. And one people remembers.

We remember what our fathers endured, and their fathers before them. We carry a strength that was forged over thousands of years and has never once been extinguished. If our forefathers could stand beside us today, they would tell us with total certainty: Stand tall. Do not be afraid. You are the answer to everything we prayed for.

So to every young man on that field, and to every Jew reading this — keep your head up. Wear your star. Walk your walk. We have never been a people who hide, and we are not about to start now.

Am Yisrael Chai

The people of Israel live — today, tomorrow, and forever.
