Join Us March 18 for an Evening on Preserving Local Green Space

*Annual Meeting: March 18, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. *

For nearly 40 years, the Riverdale Nature Preservancy has worked to protect
the natural areas and green spaces that make our community special. This
year’s annual meeting brings that mission to life with an evening of
powerful ideas, practical strategies, and inspiring examples from across
the Bronx and NYC. We hope to see you next week.

We will hear from *Matthew Shore of South Bronx Unite*, who will share how
a community land trust is helping Bronx residents reclaim and protect land
for long‑term community use. This is a model of grassroots stewardship with
lessons for every neighborhood.

We will also welcome *Oded Holzinger and Melissa Rosenthal* fro*m the
Natural Areas Conservancy*, who will discuss their citywide work restoring
forests, wetlands, and natural areas, with a focus on green spaces we rely
on here in Riverdale and the Bronx.

Together, these conversations will highlight what it takes to care for the
natural and historic resources we already have, and how each of us can play
a role in preserving Riverdale’s unique environment for generations to come.
