Vayechi 5786: Malbim Insights https://youtu.be/GgLc3IGJVs8?si=xkZQ3O4NvDQbtGYv
1) Kibbutz and Asifah are not synonyms. Kibbutz/HiKatzfu means to gather dispersed items. Asifah/HaAsfu means to bring to a specified place. When used together Kibbutz precedes Asifah. 2) Why then did Yaakov Avinu start with הֵאָֽסְפוּ֙ in verse 1, before using הִקָּֽבְצ֥וּ in verse 1? 3) The Malbim shares his insights into why Yaakov used this unusual sequence.
